Our Beliefs

Confessional and Lutheran

We believe that our righteousness before God was accomplished once for all when Jesus Christ suffered and died for the sins of the world, and when he rose from the dead three days later to reign as our Redeemer forever.

Our congregation is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  We subscribe to the Lutheran Confessions, which we believe accurately summarize the chief parts of the Christian faith as given to us in the infallible Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.   A short and readable summary of these Lutheran Confessions can be found in Martin Luther's Small Catechism.

Historical and Liturgical

We believe that the Christian faith was accomplished completely by Christ, and that his promises of the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation do not change even as our circumstances may change.

He continues to distribute to us this forgiveness of sins, life and salvation through his Word and Sacraments, especially each Sunday in the Divine Service.  We therefore also maintain the historical traditions and feast days of the Christian church which keep us focused on Christ's works for us throughout the Church year.
