Lutheran Student Center turns 50!

The groundbreaking ceremony for The Lutheran Student Center was held February 18, 1968.  One year later the building was dedicated to the glory of God for the purpose of helping students of all ages grow in the faith, and to come to faith in Jesus Christ.  Praise God for His faithfulness and this place of ministry!

We’re kicking off a year-long celebration of Immanuel Lutheran Student Center’s 50th Anniversary on Sunday, April 22, 2018.  A special 10:00am Service will be held in the Chapel of St. Timothy the Learner, followed by a free luncheon.  All are welcome!

Alumni, parents, students, community members, congregations of the Central Illinois District:  please join us!

On April 22 our guest preacher will be Rev. Marcus Zill, Director of Campus Ministry for the LCMS.  We’re also pleased that Pastor Jim Cumming, first pastor of The Lutheran Student Center (1969-1981), will be here!  Alumni will enjoy reconnecting with him and one another.

Sunday Services, “The Way” Coffeehouse, Bible Studies, Servant trips, Cost Suppers, Games Nights, and Christian fellowship have blessed students here for 50+ years (because there was campus ministry here before there was a dedicated building). Let’s celebrate.  Email us at Lutheran@macomb.com to ask questions or to tell us your story.  Call 309-833-5483 and chat (or leave us a message).  We want to hear from you.  We hope you’ll join us on April 22, 2018 (and throughout the year whenever you’re in Macomb).

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

Here are some blasts from the past …
